GTC, part of the BUUK Infrastructure Group, are looking for a Multi Utility Team Assistant who would like to help us reach our mission to “earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service”.

Responsibilities

  • Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE supplied.
  • Install and commission gas, water and electrical infrastructure as instructed, ensuring work is undertaken to a high standard of safety and technical quality by following all appropriate general and specific method statements, work procedures and safety instructions.
  • Accept delivery of plant and materials and check fitness for purpose prior to use.
  • Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment remain in good condition, and report defects to the Project Manager.
  • Identify at an early stage all contract variations and report to the Project Manager; work in accordance with the company Variation and Deviations Procedure.
  • Work to site-specific risk assessments completed by the Team Leader and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Act as a Competent Person for ROs and NROs (if assessed as competent).
  • Attend toolbox talks and other training courses as required.
  • Record accurately details of work undertaken and submit relevant work details for recording and invoicing in the required timescale.
  • Carry out any other duties as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager within the general experience scope of the role.

Qualifications

  • GN01 (minimum).
  • NRSWA certificate for operatives.
  • Water Hygiene.
  • DOMS (Water for Scotland).
  • Electrical Passport for Cable Laying.
  • SHEA Gas, Water & Elec.

Experience/Knowledge

  • Experience and/or qualifications with working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to all of the following utilities: Gas, Electric, Fibre and Water Distribution Systems.

Desirable Abilities/Skills

  • Machine Excavation up to 10T.
  • Dumper.
  • Abrasive Wheels.

Conditions of Employment

You will be required to participate in a standby rota.
