Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support a secure and highly regulated environment. The role involves designing, building, administering, and supporting enterprise infrastructure services that underpin critical operational systems. Working within a small specialist team, you will provide full lifecycle support across infrastructure platforms, ensuring services are secure, resilient, and delivered in line with strict operational requirements. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience in secure or air-gapped environments, and the ability to operate across 1st to 3rd line support. Contract Details Role: Senior Infrastructure Engineer Location: Salisbury (Full-time onsite) Duration: 12 months IR35: In Scope Rate: £569/day (Umbrella) Clearance: Active DV required Nationality: Sole UK Nationals only Key Responsibilities Design, implement, administer, and support secure infrastructure services Manage Windows Server and desktop environments Support compute, storage, networking, and virtualisation platforms Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP Support Hyper-V virtualisation environments Manage Microsoft SQL Server, including failover clustering Carry out WSUS patching and Windows updates Support secure and air-gapped environments Provide 1st–3rd line infrastructure support Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and system issues Maintain technical documentation to operational standards Support infrastructure upgrades, refreshes, and deployments Monitor performance and proactively resolve issues Essential Skills & Experience * Strong Windows Server and desktop support experience * Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP administration * WSUS patch management * Hyper-V administration * SQL Server administration and clustering * Experience across 1st–3rd line support * Experience in secure or air-gapped environments * Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills * Ability to work independently and in small teams * Strong documentation skills Desirable Skills * Linux (RHEL preferred) * Exchange / DAG environments * SAN storage administration * File and print clustering * PKI and Smartcards * Thin client environments * Trellix / McAfee security tooling * Cisco networking * VOIP / VTC support * Hardware build and deployment Candidate Profile Proactive and solutions-focused Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability Experienced in secure environments Clear communicator with strong documentation skills Comfortable in complex enterprise infrastructure settings Stable career history in infrastructure roles
