We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Specialist to join a complex and technology-driven organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a resilience professional with strong experience across Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Operational Resilience and Crisis Management to play a key role in strengthening organisational preparedness, improving resilience capability and ensuring critical services can effectively respond to disruption.
- Pay Rate to Candidate: £560 a day

The Role
You will be responsible for
- Reviewing, improving and further developing an established Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
- Conducting Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) to understand critical service and application requirements.
- Assessing current and future hosting solutions to identify resilience risks and improvement opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Identifying potential threats and defining appropriate response and recovery actions.
- Planning and facilitating Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery exercises, ensuring lessons learned are captured and improvements implemented.
- Providing expert advice and guidance on resilience strategies, technologies and service delivery.
- Supporting leadership teams with resilience assurance, risk management and preparedness activities.
- Reviewing technical solutions and producing recommendations to improve service resilience.
- Working with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders to ensure resilience requirements are understood and delivered.
About You
You will have proven experience delivering resilience outcomes within a complex organisation and be able to demonstrate:
- Strong experience in
I T Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning, testing and exercising.
- Practical experience developing and maintaining Business Continuity Plans, Disaster Recovery strategies and contingency arrangements.
- Knowledge of resilience frameworks, standards, legislation and industry best practice.
- Experience using resilience planning tools and technologies.
- The ability to assess technical solutions and identify resilience improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Membership of a relevant professional institute (e. g. AMBCI).
- Demonstrable experience within one or more resilience disciplines, including:
- Business Continuity
- Disaster Recovery
- Emergency Planning
- Operational Resilience
- Experience working within the rail, ICT, infrastructure or another technology-dependent sector.
- A relevant service management qualification such as ITIL.
- Knowledge of Information Security principles and standards, including ISO 27001.
- Relevant project or programme management qualifications such as MSP, PRINCE2 or Mo R.
- Postgraduate-level education or equivalent professional experience.
