The predicted salary is between 46000 - 57500 £ per year.

Contract Length: 6 months (extension TBC)

Day Rate: Up to £575 per day (Inside IR35 – via umbrella)

Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week in the office (London, Bristol, York or Newcastle)

Security Clearance: BPSS

Interview Process: One-stage interview via Teams (informal call)

We are seeking experienced Communications and Engagement Leads to support a high-profile, fast-paced government programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex and evolving policy environment, supporting senior stakeholders and delivering high-quality communications across a broad network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver strategic communication and engagement plans aligned to ministerial priorities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Directors and senior leaders, translating complex policy into clear stakeholder messaging.
  • Review and refine communications materials, ensuring consistent, high-quality outputs.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement activity and support managers with significant stakeholder portfolios.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-government and external relationships.
  • Provide light-touch team leadership, including prioritisation and oversight of deliverables.
  • Evaluate engagement effectiveness using feedback and insight to drive improvement.

  • Confidence influencing and advising senior leaders.
  • Ability to simplify complex, policy-heavy information for diverse audiences.
