ROLE DESCRIPTION
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As an Internal Technical Sales Representative specializing in steel partition solutions, you will play a pivotal role in supporting sales growth and delivering accurate project pricing for Datacentre construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage customer enquiries, prepare detailed quotations, and collaborate with clients to ensure their requirements are met effectively. Working closely with the sales and engineering teams, you will provide technical guidance, recommend suitable products, and maintain exceptional customer support throughout the sales process.
The role consists of 4 core elements:
- Quotation & Pricing Management - Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for Datacentre projects using steel partitioning systems.
- Technical Sales Support - Provide technical advice and product recommendations to customers, ensuring solutions align with project requirements.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Building - Manage enquiries through our CRM software, maintain strong communication with clients, and deliver exceptional support throughout the sales process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - Work closely with sales, engineering, and procurement teams to validate feasibility, lead times, and ensure timely delivery.
The position reports to the Datacentre Operations Manager based in the UK, and is a core member of the global Datacentre team. Close collaboration and alignment with the Datacentre team as a whole. The company expects you to consistently lead by example in words and actions to live by policies, rules, guidelines, behaviours and decisions.
COMPETENCIES NEEDED FOR THE POSITION
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, estimating, or a similar role within construction or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of steel partitioning systems and related components and/or the Datacentre Industry.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills for accurate cost estimation.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.
