Job summary: An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team based at Kingstown Industrial Estate, Carlisle, Cumbria.
This is a mobile role covering Cumbria and Southwest Scotland.
The successful candidate will attend customer sites to carry out reactive call-outs, installations, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works as required.
You will work on a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment from various manufacturers, supporting a number of high-profile customers across the hospitality, education, food, and manufacturing sectors.
What you will do
- Carry out installations of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in line with customer specifications.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
- Complete routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works.
- Produce condition reports, identifying and documenting any remedial works required.
- Ensure all refrigeration systems comply with relevant industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all work undertaken.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
- What you will bring
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the refrigeration and HVAC industry.
- Proven experience in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning service, maintenance, and installation.
- A current F-Gas certification.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- A flexible approach to work, including participation in the on-call rota.

- On-call/standby payment when on rota.
- Currently 1 in 6 weeks, with a standby payment of £250 per week.
- Overtime paid at enhanced rates. Company pension.
