Main Purpose of Post
To undertake all operational activities associated with Traffic Management Planning & Co-ordination such as (but not restricted to):
- Planning and coordinating traffic management and notices as per management instruction to ensure the smooth running of site operations.
- Liaising with operations staff and Local Authorities to facilitate applications for road closures, portable traffic signals for temporary lane closures and any other formal permits required.
- Requesting and monitoring TTLA/TTRO submissions and TM plans from subcontractors and ensuring that all correspondence is well documented.
- Produce and submit TM plans (CAD) and TTLA’s/TTRO’s.
- Manage, produce, and review Job Packs in detail to check for any discrepancies and provide details of work when booking the work within the Traffic Management System.
- To monitor and actively manage permit, comments and challenges and other ‘in progress’ matters received from Local Authorities.
Please note: You must have eligibility to work in the UK, have a valid Driving Licence and successfully pass a DBS check for this role.
Principal Responsibilities
- To coordinate and communicate with different authorities, principal and sub-contractors to ensure works ensue successfully without hindrance.
- To request site specific drawings relating to the work schedule and upload onto the traffic management system and assist in liaising and disseminating information to numerous departments/clients.
- Actively review and manage and record timely stops/starts and register activities to avoid incurring financial penalties.
- To ensure that all Traffic Management Notices are raised and completed in a timely and efficient way including efficiently closing notices.
- To liaise with the relevant traffic management company on a daily and weekly basis to confirm upcoming works (Set up times, and any changes required to the dates or traffic management, etc.).
- To respond to public enquiries regarding proposed works due to take place (That may affect businesses, school bus operating times, etc.).
- Carry out any other duties as required to meet business needs subject to appropriate training.
- To assist with the undertaking of the operational activities outlined above to the required standards as directed by the Line Manager and comply with Health & Safety and Environmental procedures.

Experience
- Previous Traffic Management Experience – desirable.
- Experience completing and submitting TTRO’s/TTLA’s – desirable.
- Producing TM Plans with CAD would be considered extremely advantageous.
- Knowledge of a Traffic Management System – desirable.
- Experience of using Traffic Management CAD software – desirable.
- Excellent ITC and office-based skills – essential.
- Ability to work under pressure and keep calm – essential.
- Good customer service skills, ability to liaise and coordinate both within the company and with other parties e.g. local authorities, client departments - essential.
Knowledge
- Good Microsoft Office knowledge especially Excel and Word.
- Understanding of Traffic Management Planning would be advantageous but not essential.
- Knowledge of good Health & Safety and Environmental practices would be advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications & Training
- Full Driving License - essential.
