About the Role
We’re hiring a Head of Data Intelligence to play a pivotal role in a private-equity-backed, high-growth business with a clear and active acquisitive growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to step into a hands-on senior data leadership role where you’ll directly influence pricing, marketing, customer outcomes, and M&A integration, with full executive sponsorship and visibility. As the business grows through acquisition, so will the scope, scale, and seniority of this role.
If you’re a technically strong, commercially curious data leader looking for a genuine career accelerator into a bigger Head of Data / Group Data role, this position offers the right platform. The role is based in Greater Manchester (hybrid working).
Why This Opportunity Is Different
- PE-backed, high-growth environment with an ambitious buy-and-build strategy
- Data is central to value creation — not an afterthought
- Clear runway to grow the remit through acquisition and scale
- High-impact role with ownership, autonomy, and senior-level exposure
- Ideal for someone ready to step up and build something that scales
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and maximise Snowflake as the central commercial data platform
- Translate high-quality data into measurable commercial outcomes across pricing, underwriting, marketing, and customer performance
- Embed a data-led, test-and-learn culture, replacing intuition with insight
- Deliver practical AI use cases that create real business value
- Enable self-serve analytics and reduce reliance on manual reporting
- Lead insight generation to support strategic and executive decision-making
- Play a key role in M&A data integration, ensuring acquired businesses scale cleanly and quickly
- Partner closely with the CIO, CFO, Product and Engineering leaders
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
- Snowflake established as the single source of truth
- Clear reduction in manual and fragmented reporting
- Delivery of commercially impactful insights linked to revenue, margin, or cost efficiency
- At least two AI use cases live in core business areas
- Data visibly influencing pricing, marketing, and customer strategy
- Foundations in place to scale data capability through future acquisitions
Who This Role Is For
- A hands-on data leader with strong Snowflake (or equivalent) experience
- Comfortable working across data, analytics, and AI — not just managing from a distance
- Commercially minded, able to connect data to real business outcomes
- Operating at Lead / Principal / early Head of level and ready for broader ownership
- Excited by growth, ambiguity, and building something that scales
- People leadership experience is helpful but not critical — this role is more about impact, influence, and delivery.
Team & Environment
- Currently leading a small, capable data team, with scope to grow over time
- Strong collaboration with Engineering (platform), Finance (commercial outcomes), and Product
- Supportive, ambitious leadership team with a clear growth mandate
Compensation & Progression
- Base salary targeted below £100k
- High-impact role in a PE-backed business where future scope and seniority expands with growth
- Designed as a springboard into a larger Group / Head of Data role as the business scales via acquisition
