Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Finance Manager role based in Durham. The Finance Manager will oversee day-to-day financial operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and monthly reconciliations. The role includes preparing budgets and forecasts, producing management reports, monitoring cash flow, and supporting financial planning and analysis to guide business decisions. The Finance Manager will ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations, coordinate with external auditors, and help improve internal controls and processes. This position will work closely with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives, provide financial insights, and contribute to the company’s overall growth and stability.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budget management, with experience in preparing monthly and annual accounts.
- Proficiency with finance and accounting software (e.g., ERP or accounting systems) and solid Excel skills for analysis, forecasting, and data modeling.
- Ability to manage cash flow, cost control, and financial risk, including monitoring key performance indicators and supporting strategic financial planning.
- Experience implementing or improving internal controls, financial processes, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in a finance or accounting leadership role; prior experience in distribution, manufacturing, or facilities-related sectors is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) are preferred.
