As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced Treaty Broker to support the development and placement of international reinsurance business.
The Opportunity
This role is ideally suited to an experienced London Market professional who maintains strong relationships across Lloyd's and company markets and is looking for a flexible, entrepreneurial platform through which to originate, structure and place treaty reinsurance business. We are looking for an individual capable of independently managing treaty placements, supporting business development initiatives and leveraging existing market relationships to secure optimal outcomes for clients. The position may be structured on a part-time, freelance or consultancy basis, offering significant flexibility and an attractive revenue-sharing component linked to successfully placed business.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate, structure and place treaty reinsurance programmes in international markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Lloyd's syndicates, company markets and global reinsurers.
- Advise clients on treaty strategy, programme design and market positioning.
- Prepare and present submissions to reinsurers and underwriters.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with markets.
- Support business development initiatives and identify new placement opportunities.
- Work closely with senior management on strategic reinsurance projects.
Desired Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in the placement and negotiation of treaty reinsurance programmes, including:
- Excess of Loss Treaties
- Multi-Line Excess of Loss Programmes
- Quota Share Treaties
- Surplus and Structured Reinsurance Solutions
- International and Cross-Border Reinsurance Placements
Applicants should possess:
- Established relationships within the London Market and Lloyd's community.
- Strong network of treaty underwriters and reinsurance decision makers.
- Experience working with cedants, brokers and reinsurers across multiple jurisdictions.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation and client-facing skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently.
