About the Role
Join our dynamic Platform Engineer team as a Senior Platform Engineer! We have big ambitions to deliver secure, large-scale and highly reliable systems to our customers by building platforms through code and automation. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Cloud platform engineer who has experience deploying and owning AWS within an Enterprise environment, championing infrastructure as code and automation. Security is a cornerstone of our platform, and therefore experience of securing AWS across the entire platform is essential. What You’ll Do
- Build out platform services, leveraging infrastructure code.
- Build automation pipelines to automate the deployment of code.
- Work with platform lead and cloud architects to define and implement standards across our platforms.
- Work with the security team to implement security and governance controls on our platform.
Ideal Experience
- Working with Cloud within an Enterprise, including highly-secure and governed environments.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS, specifically around Landing Zone tooling & platform engineering.
- Experience and expertise in: AWS Control Tower, AWS EC2, AWS EKS, Terraform, AWS access controls (SCP, IAM Roles, IAM Boundary policies), CI/CD pipeline automation, AWS networking and DNS, AWS S3, and AWS RDS.
- 5+ years’ experience in a platform engineering role.
- Experience with Helm, unit and behaviour driven development in Terraform, Github actions, event-driven services in AWS, are a bonus.
- Experienced with and advocate of pair programming.
- Good to have TDD and/or BDD for Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience of Agile ways of working.
- Experience working in a payments organization or financial services.
- SRE experience will be beneficial.
