About the Role

Join our dynamic IT team as a Senior IT Systems Engineer! We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to support our core IT infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our corporate systems that support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

This is a great opportunity to join our newly formed internal IT team, where you will play a key role in shaping the future of our infrastructure and driving innovation. You’ll work with technologies like Microsoft 365, Intune, Virtual Desktop, and Mekari, lead IT projects, and help build a secure, scalable digital environment. In addition to strategic and project work, this role includes a hands‑on element, such as handling support tickets and troubleshooting issues to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations. What You’ll Do

  • Manage IT infrastructure: Oversee the IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, resilience, compliance, and security, while maintaining high availability and reliability of services across the organisation.
  • Automate Deployments: Create robust automation to streamline IT processes.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with the business to expand our Cloud platform capabilities.
  • Innovate: Drive continuous improvements in our technology stack, from Azure and O365 to monitoring tools to improve costs, performance and end‑user satisfaction.
  • Secure Systems: Ensure our platforms meet the highest security and compliance standards including patch and vulnerability management, monitoring, managing VDI infrastructure, backup/restore and DR testing.
  • Service Desk: Working with our Service Desk team to handle Level 2 and Level 3 support tickets, while proactively managing escalations to ensure timely resolution of complex or high‑priority issues.
  • Mentoring: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Document: System configurations, procedures, and changes to ensure consistency, support knowledge sharing, and enable efficient troubleshooting and future scalability.

Ideal Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a senior systems engineering role within a corporate IT environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
  • Experience using and supporting the Microsoft 365 suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint, with a strong understanding of integration, collaboration features, and user support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune: Skilled in configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Intune environments, including device configuration policies, PowerShell scripts, application deployment, and conditional access policies.
  • Hands‑on experience in deploying, configuring, and managing Azure Virtual Desktop environments, including user access, session host pools, FSLogix profiles, and integration with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, VMware) are a plus.
