GSR Training are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Training Officer to join our team. GSR Training is a local, independent training provider based in Aberdeen, delivering 25+ high quality, accredited training courses to both internal and external clients. Training can range from First Aid to manual handling and health and social care courses.
Role Purpose
The Training Officer will assist with the design, delivery, and evaluation of training for both internal staff and external clients. This role combines training expertise with business development, ensuring the organisation maintains a strong reputation for compliance and quality in a range of sectors. The post holder will also support auditing and continuous improvement of training standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Design & Delivery
- Develop, update, and deliver engaging training programmes for internal staff and external clients.
- Ensure all training content reflects current legislation and sector standards.
- Adapt training materials for different audiences, learning styles, and delivery formats.
- Maintain accurate training records.
- Internal Training & Workforce Development
- Assess internal training needs and create tailored training programmes for staff.
- Support new starters with ongoing competency development.
- Audit staff training compliance and produce regular reports.
- Provide refresher sessions where required.
- External Training & Business Development
- Promote GSR Training services to external organisations, building strong client relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of the training portfolio.
- Prepare proposals, quotes, and training packages for prospective clients.
- Represent the organisation at events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum 3+ years experience in the health and social care sector.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Canva, and social media platforms (LinkedIn and Facebook).
- Experience delivering training or staff development.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to design clear and engaging training materials.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident in building relationships and engaging with external stakeholders.
- Formal train the trainer qualification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience delivering health and social care training.
- Experience in business development or client acquisition.
- Knowledge of current health and safety and first aid legislation.
