We’re looking for an experienced and commercially aware analyst who combines strong forecasting expertise with the ability to lead projects and support others within a collaborative team environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning complex industry developments into robust forecasts and actionable insight while helping drive the evolution of our modelling capabilities and data products.

About the Team

GSMA Intelligence is the definitive source of global mobile operator data, analysis and forecasts, providing industry-leading insight to operators, vendors, regulators, investors and technology companies worldwide. The Forecasting and Modelling team develops and maintains a comprehensive suite of forecasts covering mobile subscribers, network technologies, financial performance, IoT, fixed‑mobile convergence and emerging industry trends.

About the Role

As a Senior Analyst, you will take ownership of forecasting activities across a defined set of markets, technologies or strategic topic areas, ensuring the delivery of accurate, commercially relevant and forward‑looking industry forecasts. You’ll combine quantitative modelling with qualitative market analysis to explain industry developments and support both internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead smaller forecasting projects and workstreams, coordinating contributions from colleagues across data collection, research and modelling teams to deliver high‑quality outputs.
  • Support the development of junior analysts through collaboration, guidance and knowledge sharing, maintaining consistency and analytical rigour across the team.
  • Contribute to research reports, thought leadership and strategic initiatives linked to emerging industry developments such as next‑generation networks, AI‑enabled services, financial performance trends and evolving business models.
  • Engage with stakeholders and help communicate complex insights in a clear and commercially meaningful way.

About You

You’ll bring experience in forecasting, modelling, market analysis or related analytical work, alongside a strong understanding of the mobile, telecoms or technology sectors. You’ll be comfortable working with large and complex datasets and able to combine quantitative analysis with commercial and strategic thinking.

Essential skills:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to explain assumptions, challenge ideas constructively and present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Leadership and project management abilities to coordinate smaller projects or workstreams and support colleagues within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; experience with forecasting methodologies, financial analysis, telecoms datasets or statistical modelling tools is highly beneficial.
