- About the Team
The Project Services & Change Team in the GSMA provides project and change management capabilities to deliver change initiatives across the mobile industry.
Working in close partnership with subject matter experts within the GSMA and from across the mobile industry, the team manages a wide range of projects in all areas of the organisation, including Technology, Product Development, Marketing and Events, as well as internal facing projects in IT, Finance and HR.
As part of the project delivery, the Project Services team also provides change expertise to GSMA projects to guide the implementation of change initiatives within the organisation.
Project Services is the delivery engine for projects across the GSMA.
As well as delivering projects to agreed cost, quality and timelines, the Project Services team maintains a strong focus on delivering benefits to our colleagues, our members and to the mobile industry.
About the Role
The Business Analyst acts as the bridge between business needs and technical as well as process solutions.
The role focuses on understanding business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and translating requirements into clear actions which will drive projects and process improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering & Data Insights
- Engage with stakeholders to understand business needs, goals, and challenges
- Translate these needs into clear, actionable requirements that can drive business case creation and project scoping
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions
- Use data to validate assumptions and support decision-making
- Process Mapping & Improvement
- Document current processes and identify inefficiencies
- Design improved workflows and helps teams understand new processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across departments
- Solution Design & Evaluation
- Work with business and technical teams to translate business requirements into clear specifications to define project scope
- Evaluate potential solutions and ensures they meet business needs
- Support proof of concepts and feasibility studies for new projects or systems
- Stakeholder Communication & Facilitation
- Act as a bridge between business and technical teams
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions
- Documentation & Reporting
- Produce requirement documents, user stories, process flows, and support business case creation
- Maintain clear documentation to support project delivery
- Testing & Validation
- Assist in developing test plans to validate that solutions meet requirements.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Change Management
- Provide input into change impact assessments, training and post-implementation support
About You
This is a hands‑on Business Analyst role; successful candidates are required to be self-motivated and able to work autonomously to a high standard.
As a Business Analyst you will need the following skills
- Ability to break down complex problems into clear components
- Experience in working with data to validate assumptions to enable decision making
- Experience in gathering, clarifying, and documenting business requirements
- Ability to create and write user stories, requirements documentation and process flows
- Understanding of process improvement frameworks and ability to use them efficiently
- Strong stakeholder management skills to build effective internal and external relationships
- Communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences with ability to present to a variety of stakeholders, demonstrating clear and concise communication
- Experience of working in an international and cross-cultural environment
- Familiarity with project management tools
