About the Team

Working Groups are the traditional "engines" of the GSMA and exist to oversee and develop the practical aspects of running mobile services today and into the future. They are an established structure with many long-term and valuable active members. The Working Groups have resource pools of subject matter experts that provide huge value to GSMA's activities. Working Groups meet periodically to gather opinions, reach consensus and approve documentation, and the insight of the Working Group members greatly benefits the formulation of GSMA's work on many projects and adds considerable value to the entire mobile ecosystem.

About the role

We are currently looking for a candidate who will report to the Working Groups Manager and assist in relation to all duties regarding management and administration of the GSMA Working Groups. Duties may include:

  • Organising meetings and conference calls to defined meeting requirements, liaising with hosts and sponsors, managing bookings, invitations and agenda
  • Virtual meeting management or onsite management if required.
  • Note-taking to facilitate minutes
  • Assisting colleagues in follow up of activities arising from meetings
  • Managing the administration of Working Groups, procedures and documentation on the GSMA's online repositories and liaise with marketing to ensure that gsma.com pages are up to date.
  • Provide support to the Working Groups marketing team, Working Group Directors and Head of Working Groups.

About You

  • Experience working in a service-focused organisation
  • Be organised and systematic, able to follow set protocols
  • Be a good team player with flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to respond to the demands of working for high-level GSMA Officers
  • Ability to build relationships across the organisation as a whole.
  • Good stakeholder management to build relationships with Working Group members
  • Have a good telephone manner, writing skills, and the ability to understand and communicate instructions clearly
  • Be proficient (intermediate level or above) in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Be able to demonstrate good customer-facing skills, be cool and friendly under pressure, understand cultural diversity and tailor behaviour and communication style when dealing with people of different cultures
  • Be available to travel to approximately two events per year and to work during peak periods in February, March, September, and October.
