We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Teacher of Drama to join a high-achieving, selective grammar school at their Tonbridge campus. This is a part-time, temporary role starting ASAP. The selected Teacher of Drama will be responsible for delivering high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 on a flexible weekly schedule.
The school is a high-performing, selective grammar school that has recently undergone a positive transformation in its culture and ethos, officially rated 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted (as of October 2024). Inspectors highlighted a “calm and settled” atmosphere where pupils value the “caring and nurturing ethos.” It is an academically rigorous environment where students are highly motivated.
You will be based at their modern Tonbridge campus, which features excellent facilities for the creative arts and a supportive, collaborative staff team.
As a Teacher of Drama, you will be expected to:
- Deliver high-quality and inspiring Drama lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Foster creativity, confidence, and performance skills in all students.
- Follow a specific fortnightly timetable (Week 1: Fridays, Week 2: Tuesdays).
- Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Adhere to school policies on safeguarding, assessment, and curriculum delivery.
In order to be considered for this Teacher of Drama role, the candidate must:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or have substantial, relevant teaching experience.
- Have a proven ability to teach Drama up to Key Stage 5.
- Possess a genuine passion for fostering creativity and confidence in students.
- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
- Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
