We are recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs department in a high performing college in Newcastle. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work with post-16 pupils aged 16 to 19. In this role, you will be providing 1:1 support to a Learner with Additional Needs. You will provide in-class support, assisting with tailored educational plans to meet the diverse needs and abilities of each pupil. You will work in a busy, friendly and supportive department where no 2 days will be the same.

Person Specification for our Teaching Assistant Role:
- Experienced in supporting learners in this age group or the desire to
- Great rapport builder
- Good level of academic ability
- Calm, kind and positive - very proactive
- Organised and able to take instruction
- Can participate in, manage, and assist struggling pupils in small intervention groups or 1:1 academic sessions
- A Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to complete an immediate application
- Check-able work history
