Head of Year - Slough - September 2026 Start
GSL Education is looking for a dedicated Head of Year 8 and 10 to join a supportive secondary school from September 2026. This is a permanent position, offering a competitive salary depending on experience.
The successful Head of Year 8 and 10 will lead on the pastoral and academic development of a designated year group, supporting student wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, punctuality, progress, and achievement. You will work closely with students, families, Learning Coordinators, senior leaders, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and ensure every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
To be considered for this Head of Year 8 and 10 role, you must:
- Have experience working with young people and providing pastoral support within an education setting
- Have strong knowledge and understanding of attendance, punctuality, behaviour, student wellbeing, and pastoral intervention
- Be able to build positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and colleagues while handling sensitive matters with care and confidentiality
- Have strong communication, organisational, data analysis, and ICT skills, with the ability to monitor student performance and implement effective interventions
