Can you make Mathematics clear, engaging and meaningful while helping students develop confidence in problem-solving?
GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are looking for a skilled Teacher of Mathematics to work with a school in Sheffield. This role provides an opportunity to deliver well-structured lessons, challenge students appropriately and help pupils strengthen their mathematical understanding and reasoning skills.
Your responsibilities as a Maths Teacher:
- Plan and deliver effective Mathematics lessons.
- Explain mathematical concepts using clear and accessible approaches.
- Adapt learning activities to meet different levels of ability.
- Develop students' reasoning, problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Assess progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain positive behaviour and high classroom expectations.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student progress.
Requirements for the Maths Teacher role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is a must for becoming a Maths Teacher.
- Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching Mathematics.
- Previous school-based experience as a Maths Teacher is desirable.
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to motivate pupils and build positive learning relationships.
- Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
