GSL Education are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people and are keen to develop their experience in education—whether you’re considering teacher training or simply enjoy classroom-based roles.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step into the classroom in the absence of the class teacher, delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused, engaged, and well-behaved throughout the lesson. You’ll play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning while upholding school policies and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervising classes across KS3 and KS4
- Delivering lesson plans left by teaching staff
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively
- Supporting students with questions and tasks
- Reporting back to teaching staff at the end of the day
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with young people (school-based experience preferred)
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Confident, adaptable, and professional approach
- Ability to work across different subjects and year groups
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
