Maintain continuity of learning in science lessons during teacher absences. GSL Education are delighted to recruit a confident Cover Supervisor – Science for schools across Sheffield. As a Cover Supervisor (CS) – Science, you will supervise pre-set science lessons, ensure pupils stay on task, and uphold a safe and focused classroom environment.
Key Duties
- Deliver prepared science lesson materials in the teacher’s absence.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Ensure safety and appropriate conduct within science settings.
- Support pupils with tasks and basic queries.
- Report any concerns or incidents to senior staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Cover Supervisor – Science or in a similar role.
- Strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
- Confidence in supervising science-based lessons.
- A professional understanding of safeguarding procedures.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
A proactive Cover Supervisor – Science who can confidently support science learning across Sheffield schools is encouraged to apply.
