GSL Education are seeking a SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Long Eaton. This role is ideal for a qualified teacher who thrives in specialist settings and is committed to providing high-quality education tailored to individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities for the SEND Teacher:

  • Deliver tailored lessons to students with a range of SEND needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to support personalised learning.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and families.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management and safeguarding practices.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
  • Experience working in SEND or alternative education settings (desirable).
  • A strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and behaviour support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to teaching.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for students with additional needs.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
