Are you an experienced and compassionate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant eager to make a real difference? GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to work one-to-one with a child who has complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a supportive school environment in Tower Hamlets.
What you’ll do:
- Provide tailored one-to-one emotional and behavioural support.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement effective support strategies.
- Help the student build coping skills and develop positive social interactions.
- Encourage active engagement in learning while supporting emotional well-being.
- Maintain a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom atmosphere.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or in a behavioural support role.
- Ability to apply practical strategies to support students facing emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Resilient, patient, and proactive attitude.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Passion for helping students build confidence and succeed.
- A current, detailed CV covering the last ten years (explaining any gaps).
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for a new check).
