Role: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield (S2 & S3)
Pay: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term, Part-Time / Full-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across schools in the Sheffield S2 and S3 areas , providing vital support to pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural guidance.

This Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is resilient, empathetic, and committed to helping young people thrive in a school setting no matter their problems.

Key Duties of a SEMH TA Include:

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs on a 1:1 or small-group basis
  • Helping students manage emotions and behaviour positively
  • Assisting teachers in maintaining a structured learning environment
  • Building strong, positive relationships with pupils
  • Supporting students both inside and outside the classroom

The Ideal Candidate Will Be:

  • Experienced in working with children or young people (SEMH experience desirable)
  • Calm, patient, and consistent in approach
  • Confident in managing challenging behaviour
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
