Salary: 95 - 120 per day (Depending on Experience)

GSL Education are partnering with a compassionate and inclusive school in Chapeltown to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for individuals with a calm, empathetic, and resilient nature who are passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant:- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
- Implement strategies to help students regulate emotions and stay engaged
- Build trusting relationships and serve as a positive role model
- Support inclusive teaching and adapt materials as needed
- Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
- Experience supporting children/young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or SEND
- Confidence in de-escalation and remaining calm under pressure
- Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 TA Certificate or Psychology degree preferred)
