About the Role
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a welcoming school in Scarborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic education professional to work across EYFS and primary-aged classes, supporting children with their learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Nursery Practitioner / Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support children across EYFS and primary-aged year groups with their learning and development.
- Work closely with teachers and other education staff to provide engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Support children's social, emotional and personal development.
- Assist with classroom and nursery activities, ensuring children are encouraged to participate and develop their confidence.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
- Help create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment.
- Support positive behaviour and encourage children's independence.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children in an EYFS, nursery or primary setting.
- Hold a relevant childcare, education or Teaching Assistant qualification, or have suitable experience.
- Have a warm, patient and nurturing approach.
- Be confident supporting children's learning and development.
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Be reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
