GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking an Early Years Practitioner to work within a nurturing and inclusive educational setting in Scarborough. We are looking for a patient, creative, and dedicated early years professional who can support children's development through engaging experiences, positive relationships, and a safe and stimulating learning environment.
Early Years Practitioner Role
The successful Early Years Practitioner will work closely with teaching staff to support children's learning, development, and wellbeing through play-based activities and personalised support. We are looking to recruit an Early Years Practitioner who can respond sensitively to individual developmental needs and help children build confidence, communication skills, independence, and positive relationships.
Early Years Practitioner Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of engaging, play-based activities that promote children’s learning and development
- Provide individual and small group support to children with a range of developmental and additional needs
- Encourage children’s communication, language, social, emotional, physical, and personal development
- Observe, record, and share information about children’s progress to support assessment and future planning
- Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children feel confident to learn
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and carers to promote positive outcomes for each child
Early Years Practitioner Requirements
- Relevant Early Years qualification such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent is highly desirable
- Previous experience working with children in an Early Years, nursery, primary, or specialist educational setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
- A caring, patient, creative, and adaptable approach to supporting young children
- Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills, with a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
- An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
