GSL Education is recruiting confident and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to support students in Saffron Walden who need additional guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to build trust and consistency for pupils who find mainstream learning challenging. You will support de-escalation strategies, provide emotional coaching, and promote positive routines throughout the school day.
Your Key Duties as a Behaviour Mentor:
- Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support
- Develop and maintain behaviour support plans
- Encourage positive communication and coping strategies
- Monitor progress and liaise with SENCO and families
- Create a safe, structured environment that promotes success
Ideal Behaviour Mentor Profile:
- Prior experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Patient, calm, and resilient personality
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
