GSL Education is recruiting confident and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to support students in Saffron Walden who need additional guidance to manage their emotions and behaviour in the classroom. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to build trust and consistency for pupils who find mainstream learning challenging. You will support de-escalation strategies, provide emotional coaching, and promote positive routines throughout the school day.

Your Key Duties as a Behaviour Mentor:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group behavioural support
  • Develop and maintain behaviour support plans
  • Encourage positive communication and coping strategies
  • Monitor progress and liaise with SENCO and families
  • Create a safe, structured environment that promotes success

Ideal Behaviour Mentor Profile:

  • Prior experience supporting students with SEMH or behavioural needs
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Patient, calm, and resilient personality
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through GSL Education)
