Qualified Teaching Assistants Wanted - NE62, Northumberland
GSL Education Newcastle Branch are currently recruiting enthusiastic and experienced Qualified Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Primary Schools in the NE62 area of Northumberland.
We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term cover and long-term positions, offering flexibility to find work that suits your experience, availability and preferred working pattern.
Whether you are looking for regular full-time work, a couple of days of supply work each week or your next long-term position within a school, we would love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Qualified Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Working with pupils on an individual basis and in small groups.
- Providing additional support to pupils who require help with their learning and development.
- Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
- Supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) where required.
- Preparing classroom resources and supporting learning activities.
- Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other members of the school support team.
- Helping to create a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
Requirements
To be considered for the Qualified Teaching Assistant role, you should:
- Hold a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or an equivalent qualification.
- Have experience working with children within a school or educational setting.
- Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach to supporting children's learning and development.
- Be confident working with pupils individually and in small groups.
- Have strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Be reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND, additional learning needs or challenging behaviour would be beneficial, although this is not essential for every available position.
