Are you a graduate looking to work in schools? Would you like to gain some experience before you start teacher training? A ‘good’ secondary school with ‘outstanding’ behaviour in Newcastle is looking to appoint a creative graduate teaching assistant to join their very friendly SEN team. The school would like to hear from candidates that are willing to learn and grow with the school.
The main duties of a Graduate Teaching Assistant will include:
- Supporting the pupils in their education through the national curriculum
- Supporting and managing the behaviour of pupils
- Working with the class teacher to implement interventions
- Supporting and delivering creative and innovative lessons
- Using formative and summative assessment
- Promoting independence with life skills
- Providing an outstanding level of safeguarding and pastoral care
The ideal candidate will:
- Be available for work Monday to Friday
- Be a recent graduate
- Be proactive, energetic, kind and caring
- Have an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to go through the process with ourselves)
- Have a fully checkable work history
