Are you an experienced HLTA ready for your next exciting challenge? Do you enjoy stepping into the classroom, leading lessons, and making a real impact across a whole primary school? GSL Education is working closely with a primary school in the Loughton area that is looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible on a full-time, long-term basis.
The Role
- This is a varied and rewarding position where you will cover classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, delivering pre-planned lessons and supporting pupils’ learning when teachers are absent.
- You’ll be a trusted and valued member of the school team, helping to maintain continuity and high standards throughout the school day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Covering whole classes across the primary school when required.
- Delivering engaging, pre-prepared lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Supporting pupils of all abilities to stay focused, motivated, and on track.
- Managing classroom behaviour confidently and calmly.
- Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders.
- Providing additional support in lessons where needed.
What We’re Looking For
- HLTA status (or significant classroom experience with the ability to lead lessons).
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Confidence working across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
- A flexible, proactive, and professional approach.
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
