GSL Education London Branch are looking for an experienced Careers Advisor to work at a welcoming and supportive girls’ secondary school in Haringey. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Careers Advisor who enjoys guiding young people and helping them plan their future education and career pathways. The successful Careers Advisor will play a key role in supporting students to make informed decisions about their next steps.

As a Careers Advisor, you will work closely with students, staff, and external partners to deliver high-quality careers guidance. This Careers Advisor role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in student development. Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one careers guidance sessions to students
  • Support students with post-16 and post-18 options, including college, sixth form, apprenticeships, and careers
  • Help students understand their strengths, interests, and career goals
  • Maintain accurate records of student guidance and progress
  • Work with teaching staff to support whole-school careers provision
  • Offer advice on CV writing, applications, and interview preparation
  • Signpost students to external careers and education services where needed

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Careers Advisor or in a similar role
  • A good understanding of careers guidance within a secondary school setting
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
