We are currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work based in Special Needs Schools around Lichfield, Staffordshire, Tamworth. This will involve working 1:1 with children with extremely challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, aggression, SLD, PMLD, looked after children, and those who are at risk of harm to themselves or others, as well as individuals with attachment difficulties.
About the role:
- Providing 1:1 behaviour support to pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN requirements including SLD and PMLD.
- Implementing appropriate structures to manage challenging behaviour, always being pro-active and engaging.
- Acting like a positive role model and providing nurture support.
- Providing numeracy and literacy booster sessions out of the classroom.
- De-escalating heightened and volatile situations.
- You will be supporting across Primary ages between 5 to 11 years old.
- Personal care is mandatory within this school.
- Resilience and adaptability to deal with a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges.
The ideal candidate should have experience working with challenging behaviour in an education or support setting. Candidates who have personal experience working with challenging behaviour, mental health, SLD, PMLD, and Autism are encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check β Must be on the update service. (We can assist you with a DBS if you do not have one)
- 2x References are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
- Teaching Assistant β Level 2 Qualification or similar.
