We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to support Key Stages 3 and 4 in a thriving school in the Portsmouth, Hampshire area. This role offers an exciting opportunity for those with a passion for education, with the potential to secure a permanent contract following a successful probation period.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining the continuity of learning during teacher absences. You will supervise pre-prepared lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
Responsibilities of the Cover Supervisor:

Deliver pre-set lesson plans in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school’s policies and procedures.

Support students with their learning, answering questions, and providing guidance where needed.

Liaise with teaching staff to ensure a smooth handover of lesson plans and student progress.

Monitor and record student attendance and participation during lessons.

Build positive relationships with students, promoting a safe and inclusive environment.
