SEN Teaching Assistant – Gainsborough

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Gainsborough on a full‑time supply basis, with the opportunity for the role to become long‑term or permanent for the right candidate.
You will support children and young people with a range of SEN, including SEMH, MLD and PMLD, helping them to access learning and develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEN.
- Support learning, communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEN team.
- Provide personal care where required, depending on the setting.
- Maintain a calm, patient and nurturing approach.
The Ideal Candidate
- Available full‑time, Monday–Friday.
- Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
- Patient, compassionate and resilient.
- Confident supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.
- Able to build strong relationships with children and young people.
- A reliable and committed team player.
- Previous SEN experience is desirable but not essential.
