Are you a calm, resilient, and committed individual passionate about supporting students with behavioural needs? GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to work in supportive school settings across Hull. As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant (Behaviour TA), you will play a vital role in helping students manage their behaviour, engage positively with learning, and develop essential social and emotional skills within a structured and nurturing environment.

Main Responsibilities of a Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural needs.
  • Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies and intervention plans.
  • Help students remain engaged, focused, and motivated during lessons.
  • De-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour techniques.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to monitor progress and behaviour.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs is desirable.
  • A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
  • CACHE Level 2/3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication and classroom support skills.
  • Ability to follow school policies, behaviour strategies, and safeguarding procedures.
  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL.
