This role is perfect for anSEN Teaching Assistantwho enjoys a structured Monday-Friday routine and has experience supporting students with autism (ASD), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and speech and language challenges.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide personalised 1:1 and small-group support tailored to individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with communication strategies, sensory needs, and emotional regulation
  • Use a calm, patient, and positive approach to manage behaviour effectively
  • Work alongside the class teacher to maintain a structured and inclusive classroom
  • Implement and follow Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) accurately
  • Encourage independence, life skills, and active engagement in learning

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you should:

  • Have recent experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school or care setting)
  • Demonstrate a patient, flexible, and nurturing approach
  • Have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Be able to meet GSL's safer recruitment requirements
  • Hold an Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
