At GSL Education, we are seeking a proactive, resilient, and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding and supportive primary school in Enfield. This rewarding role involves providing targeted support to students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in promoting positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Targeted SEMH Support: Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, implementing effective strategies to manage behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and deliver personalised support plans.
- Curriculum Access: Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating fully in classroom activities, helping to build confidence and independence.
- Behaviour & Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student behaviour and progress, and communicate effectively with staff and parents.
The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant will have:
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
- A proactive and resilient attitude, with the ability to uphold high standards and get the best out of pupils.
- A child-centred approach, putting the needs of students at the forefront at all times and considering individual special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of SEMH, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
