Are you passionate about supporting young children at the very start of their educational journey? GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in schools and early years settings across Darlington. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in EYFS environments and supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing during these crucial early stages.
Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS activities
- Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy development
- Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development
- Support children’s emotional wellbeing and personal development
- Help set up and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Observe and record children’s progress in line with EYFS framework
- Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an Early Years setting
- Knowledge of the EYFS framework (desirable)
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
