GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistants to work in schools and early years settings across Darlington. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in EYFS environments and supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing during these crucial early stages.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS activities
  • Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy development
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support where required
  • Encourage positive behaviour and social development
  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and personal development
  • Help set up and maintain stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Observe and record children’s progress in line with EYFS framework
  • Ensure safeguarding and health and safety procedures are followed at all times

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in an Early Years setting
  • Knowledge of the EYFS framework (desirable)
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply
