The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set and that lessons continue in a calm, purposeful environment. You'll cover a variety of subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to maintain high standards of behaviour and learning throughout the school day.

This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies.
  • Ensure students remain focused, engaged and on task.
  • Provide support and guidance where appropriate without the need to plan lessons.
  • Record attendance and provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.
  • Support the wider school community as required.

The Ideal Candidate

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience working with secondary-aged students (school-based experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Are confident leading a classroom and communicating with young people.
  • Can build positive relationships whilst maintaining high expectations.
  • Are organised, resilient and able to adapt quickly.
  • Have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Are considering a future career in teaching or education.
