Role Overview: GSL Education are seeking a motivated and skilled Computer Studies Teacher to join a welcoming school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for an educator who can spark interest in computing, promote problem-solving, and guide learners to confidently navigate the digital world. You will deliver engaging lessons that build key IT skills and promote safe, effective use of technology across the curriculum.
Responsibilities as a Computer Studies Teacher:
- Teach a broad and engaging Computer Studies curriculum to support learners' digital development.
- Plan and deliver lessons that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and practical application of IT skills.
- Introduce students to essential topics such as digital literacy, computer applications, online safety, and basic programming concepts.
- Support students' progress through effective assessment and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes high standards of behaviour and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas, resources, and innovative teaching approaches.
Key Requirements of the Computer Studies Teacher:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous teaching experience in Computer Studies or ICT/Computing is highly desirable.
- Strong subject knowledge with the ability to simplify complex technology topics for learners.
- Confident using a range of digital tools, software, and educational technology systems.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply through GSL Education.
