Salary Scale: £92 – £115 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you compassionate, patient, and confident supporting pupils with complex educational and additional needs? GSL Education Hull Branch are currently recruiting dedicated Complex Education Needs Teaching Assistants to work across educational settings in Scarborough.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can provide personalised support to pupils with complex needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and feel safe and included within the classroom.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with complex educational, learning, communication, or additional needs.




• Assist teachers with personalised learning activities, interventions, and differentiated classroom tasks.




• Support pupils with communication, sensory, social, emotional, and behavioural needs according to their individual requirements.




• Encourage independence, confidence, engagement, and positive participation in learning and daily routines.




• Monitor pupils’ engagement and progress, sharing relevant observations with teachers and the wider support team.




• Help maintain a calm, safe, structured, and inclusive environment that meets each pupil’s individual needs.




• Previous experience supporting children or young people with complex educational or additional needs is highly desirable.




• Experience supporting pupils with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties, learning difficulties, or sensory needs would be advantageous.




• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach with the ability to respond appropriately to individual needs.




• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.




• A genuine commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting the welfare and development of young people.




• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
