We are currently seeking a dedicated College Support Specialist to work within a Post-16 college setting in Chelmsford, supporting learners with SEN and complex needs. This is a highly rewarding role for individuals passionate about helping young people transition into adulthood, build independence, and access education in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to Post-16 learners with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and complex needs
  • Support students within classroom settings, vocational areas, and life-skills sessions
  • Assist learners to work towards EHCP outcomes and personal development goals
  • Support emotional regulation, communication, and positive behaviour
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, and medical needs where required
  • Work closely with tutors, therapists, and SEN teams to ensure consistent support

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with SEN and/or complex needs (education, care, or support background)
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting independence
  • Post-16 or college experience is desirable but not essential
