About the role
GSL Education Kent are currently recruiting a Primary Learning Mentor to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in Canterbury. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, graduate or aspiring teacher who is keen to make a positive difference to children's academic progress, wellbeing and personal development.
As a Primary Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils to provide targeted support, encourage positive attitudes towards learning and help children overcome barriers that may affect their confidence, engagement and achievement.

Primary Learning Mentor role
The successful Primary Learning Mentor will provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping to develop literacy, numeracy, social skills and positive learning behaviours.
We are looking for a Primary Learning Mentor who is patient, approachable and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children within a primary school, educational or mentoring setting
- Be confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis
- Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards learning
- Support children with literacy, numeracy and wider classroom activities
- Build positive relations
