Primary Nurture Teacher

Salary: Β£140 - Β£240 per day

Are you a compassionate and dedicated teacher with a passion for supporting children who require additional emotional and behavioural support? Do you have the skills to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive?

We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary Nurture Teacher to join a supportive school in Braintree. This rewarding role involves working with pupils who may face barriers to learning due to SEMH needs, behavioural challenges, trauma or difficulties accessing mainstream education. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, resilience and positive learning behaviours.

The Role

As a Primary Nurture Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and supportive classroom environment.
  • Support pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and other additional needs.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, self-esteem and resilience.
  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies and restorative approaches.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, pastoral staff and external agencies.
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting support where necessary.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and achieving their full potential.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, meetings and support plans.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, respect and achievement.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching within a primary school setting.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEN, Autism, ADHD or behavioural needs.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A nurturing, patient and empathetic approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • A flexible and resilient attitude.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes for all learners.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
