The Role - Geography Teacher
As a Geography Teacher, you will play an important role in delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that bring the subject to life. You will encourage pupils to develop their geographical knowledge, critical thinking and understanding of the world around them, helping them build the skills and confidence to succeed. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality Geography lessons across the secondary age range.
- Inspiring pupils to develop a genuine interest in Geography and the wider world.
- Creating a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and achievement.
- Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet a range of learning needs.
- Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, engagement and academic progress.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider success of the department and school.
- Supporting pupils' academic development, confidence and personal growth.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
- A degree in Geography or a relevant subject.
- A genuine passion for Geography and inspiring young people.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet a range of learning needs.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A positive, flexible and professional approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
