Salary: £24,000 - £27,000 per annum, depending on experience

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join a school in Boston.

Are you passionate about safeguarding and committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people? GSL Education is looking for a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead to support the school's safeguarding team and help ensure pupils are safe, supported, and able to thrive within the school environment.

This is an important role for someone with strong safeguarding knowledge who can build positive relationships with pupils, communicate effectively with staff and families, and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) with the day-to-day management of safeguarding concerns.




• Act as a point of contact for staff, pupils, parents, and external professionals regarding safeguarding matters.




• Identify, record, and appropriately escal ate safeguarding concerns.




• Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records in line with school procedures.




• Support referrals to relevant external agencies where required.




• Work closely with the DSL, senior leadership team, pastoral staff, and other professionals.




• Help ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are understood and followed by staff.




• Support safeguarding training, awareness, and updates across the school.




• Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all pupils.




• Keep up to date with relevant safeguarding guidance and legislation.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a safeguarding, pastoral, child protection, or education-based role.




• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.




• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.




• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.




• Confident working with children, families, school staff, and external agencies.




• Organised, reliable, and able to manage sensitive cases professionally.




• Able to remain calm and professional when dealing with complex or challenging situations.




• Relevant safeguarding training and/or experience as a DSL or DDSL would be highly desirable.




• Experience working within a school or education setting is strongly preferred.
