Site Supervisor - Education
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £14.52-£16.74 per hour (Approx 37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary, with potential for permanent employment
Hours: Monday-Friday, shift-based between 5:45am and 6:30pm
GSL Education are currently recruiting for two Site Supervisors to join a school in Birmingham, with opportunities to start within the next few weeks.
We are looking for reliable, practical and proactive Site Supervisors who can help ensure the school site is safe, secure, well-maintained and ready for pupils and staff each day.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous school, education, facilities, premises or site management experience who is looking for a long-term opportunity, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
The Role
You will work as part of a three-person site team, reporting directly to the Senior Site Supervisor. The school operates an early, middle and late shift pattern, so flexibility is essential.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the day-to-day operation and security of the school site
- Carrying out opening and closing procedures
- Supporting with general site maintenance and repairs
- Ensuring the premises are safe, clean and secure
- Responding to site issues and carrying out practical tasks as required
- Supporting contractors and visitors attending the school
- Working closely with the Senior Site Supervisor and wider school team
- Helping maintain a positive and welcoming environment for pupils and staff
About You
The successful candidate must have:
- A DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
- A full UK driving licence
- Availability to work between 5:45am and 6:30pm, Monday-Friday
- A reliable, proactive and professional approach
- Good communication and practical problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Previous school, education, premises, facilities or site management experience is highly desirable.
The Principals are keen to meet suitable candidates for an informal chat outside of operational school hours, allowing both parties to understand the role and ensure it is the right long-term fit.
