Job Title: Behaviour Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Location: Tower Hamlets
Salary Range: £90 – £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Start time: ASAP, 8:30 am – 3:45 pm
Contract:
Long-term, Full-time

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, GSL Education are looking for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant in a welcoming school in Tower Hamlets, starting inJanuary 2025.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant (SEMH), You will play a key role in providing targeted support to children with challenging behaviours, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Responsibilities of the Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

  • Work one-to-one or in small groups to support children with SEMH needs.
  • Use a child-centred approach to help students manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Assist with implementing Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and tailored strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment to promote students’ emotional and academic development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Provide consistent encouragement, patience, and structure to help children succeed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour management plans.

Requirements of the Behaviour Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting is essential.
  • Proven experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A proactive and compassionate approach to addressing children’s individual needs.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
